Welcome to Packaging People - the free social network for anyone with an interest in the UK packaging sector
Packaging People is what we are: designers, technologists, buyers, manufacturers, sellers, marketeers, business leaders..... of packaging.
As far as we know, there has never been a club or forum for individuals in the packaging supply chain to interact. It is high time there was.
All you do is fill in the very few details requested in your Profile page - then see who else there is.
You can comment on the blog; start a discussion in the forum; post or read about an event or just get in touch with others. And why not invite everyone you know in the industry to join too? Its very easy - just go to the box on the right and click on "Friends - Invite".

Death of Mary Murphy
The sudden death of Mary Murphy must be remarked on among Packaging People, for she was surely one - even if she never got to joining us. Perhaps she is more of "my generation" than of that of many of PP but she was an ever-present name and presence in our media and events over so long that she must be celebrated by us. This blog gives all the place to do so - so please do

Packaging Training
Is it just me or have UK businesses simply abondoned training packaging professionals in their employ ?
If thats the case, the 200,000 people currently working in the industry should surely cry out !
Are there any views or observation on this ?

You're never too old
There seems to be little or no life in our 'Group' at the moment judging by the lack of blogs about so here is a subject to stir some reaction - Age discrimination.
It seems that a lot of media coverage is back on the subject of over 50's not able to get jobs. How many in Packaging People are in the age bracket 50-65 and have had experience of being out of work. What reaction if any have you had to gaining meaningful employment? Is it as bad as what people make it out to be? How…
